Graduate Interview
How did you arrive at TPOM?
I came here from Carroll County Jail, where I was incarcerated for 18 months. I wanted a fresh start and the chance to stand on my own two feet. TPOM gave me that opportunity—to work, pay rent, fend for myself, and learn to be a responsible adult.
What challenges did you face before coming to TPOM?
Stability was a major issue. I lived in an unhealthy, codependent environment that held me back. I couldn’t keep a job or move forward because I was stuck in a cycle of irresponsibility. Nothing was going right.
What challenges do you think you will face after completing the program?
One of my biggest challenges will be finding a way to live comfortably while building residual income. I don’t want to just work to pay rent—that would push me toward old habits. My aspirations are bigger than my small hometown in West Tennessee. I want to live in a city like Nashville, which matches the size of my goals and dreams.
How has life been since graduating from TPOM?
Life has been nothing short of extraordinary. In less than a year, I’ve been promoted twice—this being my second promotion—and I’m now a Manager! Not only am I thriving in my career, but I also have the freedom of living on my own in my very own apartment, where I hold the key to my future and answer to no one but myself. The sense of accomplishment and independence is overwhelming, and I’m beyond grateful for how far I’ve come. The sky's the limit!
